Don't know how I would've celebrated my 1st album's 15th Anniversary without the 2 guys I came in the game with. They're known as Webb & Cheo but these 2 are my brothers, my family, my niggas thru it all! Them being my 1st management wasn't thru paperwork, (shit I can't remember if I even signed anything & if I did it ran out a long time ago) it was thru BOND. Thank You for everything including being there to celebrate a milestone of my career. #TheFamily [shot by @justgerard] #15thAnniversaryDinner #GhettoFabolousTurns15 #StarPowerManagement
Fabolous had a special dinner to celebrate the 15th anniversary of his debut album “Ghetto Fabolous.” People in attendance included, Lil Mo, DJ Clue, Omen, Pain In Da Ass and former managers, Webb and Cheo.
What was your favorite track off of the album?
A Ghetto Fabolous story you might not know.. I was first signed at Interscope Records by @stevestoute & @djclue worked at Interscope so it was a good fit. But Clue ended up leaving Interscope a lil while after and I had a decision to make… Leave my 1st record deal and go with Clue or stay with Interscope. I decided to stay wit Clue and go back to the streets thru his Mixtapes. We ended up getting a new deal at Elektra Records & released Ghetto Fabolous. Looking back 15 yrs later I think I made the right decision. Stay down til you Come Up never seemed realer.. #15thAnniversaryDinner #GhettoFabolousTurns15 #Cluemanatti #DesertStorm
The voice.. Pain In Da Ass!! The Pacino voice on "The Bad Guy" was none other then @therealpain456. The song was inspired by my love for the movie Scarface & Pain came wit the classic Al Pacino lines to tie the song together. I low key tried to find you for Loso's Way album but couldn't in time. But may have to bring you back for some Carlito lines for Loso's Way 2! Til then, Thank You my G. #15thAnniversaryDinner #GhettoFabolousTurns15 #PainInDaAss
@thelilmoshow has been there for me even before Ghetto Fabolous. She put me on Superwoman (her request) because she heard my freestyles on the Clue Mixtapes & wanted me! She had done songs wit Missy, JayZ, Ja Rule & more..But she insisted on ME! From there I knew what kind of person Mo' was. You also were apart of "Take You Home" on Ghetto Fabolous because how could I not make you part of my 1st album when you helped me get there. Thank You Mo'. Love 4 Life. #15thAnniversaryDinner #GhettoFabolousTurns15 #DuttaDuttaDuttaDuttaDuttaDamn
My baby.. 15 years ago today my 1st album released on Sept. 11th 2001.. A 23 yr old kid from Breevoort Projects in the Bed Stuy section in Brooklyn, NY got a chance… I didn't know much about making a album but I did know I had a opportunity to change me, my family & friends lives. Ghetto Fabolous sold over a million records & was my 1st Platinum album but what made it special to me was the grind, the industry innocence, the learning process, & the fans who came along on the journey with me from the Clue mixtapes to Ghetto Fabolous. Thank You to @djclue, @duroceo, Skane & Desert Storm. Thank You to Sylvia Rhone & Elektra Records. Thank You to all the Producers & Features. & most important Thank You to all the fans who was down & stayed down!! #Happy15thAnniversary #GhettoFabolousTurns15 #GhettoFabolous
Today marks the 15th anniversary for Fabolous’ debut album “Ghetto Fabolous.” Unfortunately his release date was the same day as the infamous 9/11 terrorist attack. R.I.P. to all the people that lost their lives during that tragedy.
Fabolous was invited to the Emirates lounge at the Arthur Ashe Stadium for the 2016 U.S. Open. The United States Open Tennis Championships is held annually and includes, men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.
Along with his witty rap bars, Fabolous has been known for his sense of style. From jerseys and luxury brand attire to the most sought after sneakers. He recently spoke with Footwear News about his favorite kicks from the 90’s and issues with the sneaker culture today. Check the full interview HERE.
FN: How did you come up with your own personal style?
Fabolous: It’s really about comfort for me now, what I feel comfortable in, whatever vibe I wake up feeling like. I constantly change what look I’m wearing, what shoes I’m wearing T.day I’m wearing Filas; at the shoot, I wore Converse and Saucony. I like to be versatile; I like to be diverse [and] try to keep all the styles I’ve seen and liked or became accustom to and mix it up.
Fabolous ends the summer with the sequel to “Summertime Shootout.” “Summertime Shootout 2 (The Level Up)” features, Wale, Dave East, Lil Uzi and more.
